Many of us think that condoms provide full protection against sexually transmitted diseases. However, the common misconception is not true in the case of HPV. This disease can spread through skin-to-skin contact. The skin of male and female genitalia which left uncovered by condoms can lead to the spread of disease.
- HPV is a Nightmare
STI has a widespread in the United States, here HPV represent the group of viruses which directly affect the skin as well as the moist membranes of the body. It generally shows effects on body parts such as the anus, cervix, throat and mouth. It is quite scary that HPV have more than 100 types which affect the skin in the form of nasty warts.

It is not surprising that cervical cancer has a strong linkage with HPV infection. All most all the cases of cervical cancer in women can be endorsed to HPV infection. The type of HPV 16 and 18 are responsible for cervical cancer in 70% of the cases.
- Delay in Symptoms of Virus
After an onset sexual intercourse, many people get infected with HPV. However in many times the virus get transmitted from the infected person which has no symptoms of the diseases. In some cases, it takes many years to experience the symptoms of the disease.
- Women have Maximum Threat
As compare to men, women are more susceptible to this disease. The rate of male-to-female transmission of the disease is 5% higher than in the case of female-to-male transmission.
So, it is always better to be aware of this deadly disease to remain safe from the infection.
