Doctors Are Urging You To Stop Feeding Your Children Hot Dogs – Here’s Why!

You love eating this food, and even give it to your children neglecting the fact that it is unhealthy. Doctors are trying to warn parents by telling them to stop feed their kids hot dogs!

A new research shows that children who eat more than 12 hot dogs a month have nine times the normal risk of developing childhood leukemia. Moreover, another research shows that children who consume hot dogs one or more times per week have an increased risk of brain cancer.

However, not only children are affected by this food. Fathers who frequently consumed hot dogs before conceiving are more prone to pass cancer to their children. In addition, pregnant women who consumed hot dogs more often can have children who will suffer from a brain tumor.

Why hot dogs are so dangerous to our health? The answer is nitrate additives.

Nitrates, which are present in hot dogs cause all these health issues. They are used in order to prevent food from spoiling and to add color to the meat.

Nitrates are not cancer-causing ingredients by themselves. However, during certain body conditions, the nitrates link with amines that are naturally present in the meat and create by-products called N-notrose, which is dangerous carcinogenic compound.

Vitamin C is a helpful agent that can block this formation of carcinogenic substances process and lower the risk of cancer related to these chemicals.

Tips to avoid Nitrate-filled foods:

  • Try to consume less processed foods and cured meat products, such as hot dogs, sausage, and cold cuts.
  • Before buying products, check their labels carefully and avoid sodium or potassium nitrates and nitrates present in products.
  • Eat organic foods
  • Consume diet rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C. As we already mentioned above, Vitamin C blocks the conversion of nitrates and nitrates to nitrosamines.
